Advertisement Design

I picked out an advertisement of sofa with a lady laying on the sofa reading the news paper. The background was a balcony with some trees. The way I changed the advertisement is that I changed the background filled with trees so that it looks more relaxing. I also took away the coffee table near the sofa and changed the advertisement sentence to "the most relaxing moment you could ever have".

My advertisement has patterns from the trees in the background and the pattern on the sofa because the way I edited the background is to copy a certain part of the tree from the original advertisement then I pasted the selected tree all over the background so that it made a repetition. The sofa also has repetition because of the lines on the sofa. The sofa and the background is being contrasted because you can see the color difference right away when you look at my advertisement. My advertisement has asymmetrical balance because if you draw an imaginary line through the middle of the advertisement, both sides are not going to match. My advertisement has unity because  every elements worked together to create unity.

This advertisement means that I like the nature because I decided to create the background full of trees like a forest. It also means that I like relaxing houses with a lot of sunlight coming in because that's what makes me feel relaxed.

I feel that it was successful because everything came out the way I wanted and still remained the relaxing feeling the original advertisement. It is created neatly and it has unity because all the elements of designs worked together to create unity.

Shrine Down The Hall

For my Shrine Down The Hall, I took a picture of my room. I didn't purposely tidy up my room. I took the picture of my room just as the way it is. In the picture you can see a bed right in the middle and there are stuffed animals on my bed. There are also post-its on my bed. At the top left corner you can see the sunlight shinning into my room.

My Shrine Down The Hall does not have any patterns. My bed and the rest of my room is being contrasted. My stuffed animals are being emphasized because it is the first thing you see when you look at my picture. My picture has asymmetrical balance because if you draw an imaginary line through the middle of the picture, both sides of the picture won't match. My Shrine Down The Hall has unity because all the elements of designs worked together to create unity.

It means that I like cute things around my room and I like to decorate my room rather than having it plain. The message is that I am still a kid in the heart.

Dream Journal

In my dream and memory journal, I chose a dream where I dreamed of going to Disneyland again and in the collage there are eight different pictures. Two pictures of the castle, a picture of Winnie The Pooh, a picture of Piglet, a picture of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse and a picture of Walt Disney. The Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse is transparent in the middle of the picture/collage.

My dream memory journal does not have any pattern. The Mickey Mouse and the Minnie Mouse in the middle is being contrasted because the background is dark and the characters stood out. The picture of Mickey and Minnie is being emphasized because it is the first thing you see when you look at it. My collage is asymmetrical balance because if you draw an imaginary line through the middle, none of the sides will match. My collage has unity because all the elements of designs are showed in the collage.

It means that I like Disneyland because I had a dream about it. The photograph says that I want to go to Disneyland again.

I feel that it was successful. The elements of design worked together to create unity. It is created neatly because nothing looks messy. It looks good because all the elements of designs exist. I successfully translated the feelings, emotions and meanings of the dream journal.

Personal Collage

My inside outside self portrait has a picture of my eye and it's transparent. In the background, there are items that I like and represents me. For example, there is a necklace that says live, love, laugh. I chose to take a picture of the necklace because it represents my life. No matter what happens, I'll still have to live my life. Love means give you love and not hate. Laugh means to always stay happy. I also had pictures of desserts because I love eating desserts. Lastly, I have a typography saying "be yourself" meaning be who you really are and don't fake it.

This self portrait means that I like desserts and that I base my rule of life on "live, love, laugh" because with all three personal qualities, I believe I'll end up with a happy life and future.

I think it is successful because the self portrait came out looking nice and I like the transparency. I also like how the necklace show through my eyeball. I also think it was successful because all the elements of designs worked together to create unity.

Spaceship

My self portrait is putting myself in space, wearing a space suit. The space is mostly blue and it looks like it has a transparent planet in the back. I also put a spaceship in the background.

My self portrait has a pattern because of the clouds on the bottom of the picture. The blue background and the spaceship is being contrasted because you can tell the differences between the two right away. The spaceship is being emphasized when because you can see the spaceship right away when you look at the picture. The self portrait has asymmetrical balance because if you draw an imaginary line through the middle, both sides do not match each other.

It means that I've always wanted to go to space that's why I put myself in space. The colors showed that the environment more unrealistic. The environment says that I like the environment of space. The colors, environment and collage doesn't represent my culture. The colors symbolize the space.

Warhol Self Portrait

I have nine pictures in the Warhol self portrait and the nine pictures are the same. However, every pictures are in different colors. All the colors on the self portraits are complementary colors on the color wheel. For example, blue to orange, purple to yellow, and red to green.

My self portrait have repetition because the pictures keep on repeating nine times of itself. The colors on the pictures are being contrasted since they are complementary colors. The pictures with yellow in it is being contrasted because it stands out the most. The self portrait has symmetrical balance because when you draw an imaginary line in the middle of the Warhol, both sides match each other. My self portrait have unity because everything match together.

It means that we could change the picture into different ways and it gives out different ways. The color gives out the different feelings of picture. The colors tells me that I like the contrast between purple and yellow because I have the most purple and yellow. I don't think that the colors represent my culture. The color symbolize the different feelings like hot and cold colors.

I think that my Warhol self portrait was a success. The elements of designs worked together to create unity. It is also created neatly. It looks good because the pictures of my face stood out.

Digital Calendar

My digital calendar has seven pictures, all of the pictures are related with nature and views, it has no people in these pictures. There are pictures of tree branches, a waterfall, some berries, leaves, yellow roses, sun raise and the Disneyland castle.

My digital calendar has a pattern because of the numbers on the calendar. The calendar and the background is being contrasted. The picture of the sun raise is being emphasized because it is standing out the most. My digital calendar have asymmetrical balance because if you draw an imaginary line through the middle of the calendar, he sides won't match. It has unity because all the elemtns of design worked together and it looks good.

It means that I like taking pictures of scenic things because it is all about pictures of the nature. The message of the calendar is to show how wonderful this world is.

Vision of Music

My CD cover is based on a song called "Graduation Friends Forever" and I had two little girls in the middle of the CD cover holding hands which represent friendship. I have a telephone at the bottom which represents that the friendship will stay together by contacting each other through the phone. I also have a cap representing graduation.

My visual representation have a pattern at the background because of the lyrics that's in the back. The two little girls that are holding hands are contrasted from the background. All the pictures that I have are being emphasized because it stands out the most. My visual representation have asymmetrical balance because both sides don't match. It has unity because everything worked together and it looked nice.

It means that graduation is another step forward and that it shows how we are growing up day by day. To me, it means that I care a lot about friendship and it's not easy to forget the times that we been together.

I feel like I successfully translated the feelings of the song into a visual representation because I have pictures that relate to the song in the CD cover.

Logo Design

My logo design is divided into four sections. Tow with a whit background and black words and two inverse of that. My logo words are CARA. The C has a snowman in it. The A is a Christmas tree, the R has an ornament and presents. The last A is a Santa.

My logo has pattern because it is black then white then black again. The pattern skips. The white background is contrasted from the white background. The patterns in the letters are being emphasized because those are the first thing you see when you look at my logo design. The logo has symmetrical balance because if you draw an imaginary line in the middle, both sides matches. The logo has unity because it has all the elements of design.

The logo means that I like Christmas because my theme is Christmas. The message of the logo is to tell people who I am. The drawing represents that I was born around Christmas time.

Memories Collage

I have ten different photos on my memories collage and the pictures are in different sizes. I have a picture of my badminton team in the middle because I have a picture of the bulldog in the background and my memories collage is memories about Wallenberg. I also have pictures of winterball, dress up day and graduation days pictures.

My design solution have repetition because of the background. The pictures in my collage are being contrasted from the background that I have. My team picture at the bottom of the collage is being emphasized because it is the first thing you see when you look at my collage. My memories collage has asymmetrical balance because if you put an imaginary line in the middle, both sides won't match. My collage has unity because it has all the elements of design.

It means that memories stays. The photo I used are to show my memories and show the elements of designs.The techniques shows that one picture stands out more than the other.

Cow

My cow's major colors are red, blue and white. My cow also has three diary products which are cheese, yogurt and milk. My clow has pictures of the flag, freedom of speech and some words used as a background.

The milk and the yogurt in the cow is being contrasted from the background and the diary products are being emphasized because it is the first thing I saw when I first look at my cow design. My design cow has asymmetrical balance. My design cow has unity because everything worked together and it looked good.

My cow design means that America has changed a lot throughout the years because it shows American ingenuity. The shapes and photo made the cow design stand out. The media and process I used made the design stood out and made the design looked neat.

Unity

My design solution is a picture of cups and one cup is closer than the other. My design solution has soft colors. The pattern on the cup are hearts and a girl holding onto a heart, swimming. The surface where I put the cup is standing out a lot to show contrast.

My elements of design have repetition because there are hearts on the cup and tiles background. The cup and the table are being contrasted because you could see a big difference in the cup and the surface of the table. The cup is being emphasized because it stands out the most and it is the first object you see when you look at the picture. My design solution have asymmetrical balance. It has unity because everything work together and it looks good.

The design solution means that I like cups and object that stands out the most. The shapes and colors showed repetition and emphasis in the picture. The process and different effects I used showed the picutre in a different way of feeling it.

I do think that it is successful because the picture and effects came out the way I wanted. The elements of design worked together to create unity. It looks good because the colors are soft and it shows all the elements of design.

Type Face

My type face is a picture of a sailor holding onto a lagguage. He has a ship of his head as a hat, a tie and he wears formal clothing.

My type face has repeition because it shows repetition on the brief case. The lines showed repetition. The sailor and the background is being contrasted because it stands out. The sailors' body is being emphsized. The type face has asymmetrical balance because if you draw an imaginary line through the sailor, both sides won't be identical. My design have unity because all elements of design worked and it looked good.

It means that I like traveling because I did it on something similar to traveling. The shapes and colors created contrast and unity in my type face. The processes are used to show contrast and unity.

Emphasis

My design is a picture of flowers; carnations and yellow roses. The pink carnation stands out more than any other flowers in the picture. It shows emphasis by titling the background and brighning the pink flower.

My design solution have repetition because the tiles in the background is a repetition. The yellow flowers and the pink flower are being contrasted. The pink flower are being emphasized. The design solution have asymmetrical blaance because the left side doesn't match with the right side. My design solution have unity became everything worked together without looking weird.

It means that I like flowers because it did the project in flowers. The shapes made the flower stand out more because of the tiles. The media and process allowed me to show emphasis on my project.

The Principle of Design Poster Critique

My balance is a radial balance. It is made with news papers and it looks like a tunnel. There are patterns of checker boxes to make the design look unique. Everything cut out with news papers are contained with words only.

My design solution have repetition because of the checker boxes pattern showing on top of the radial balance. The purple and yellow checker boxes are being contrasted. The purple colors are being emphasized because it is the first thing you see when you look at the picture. The design solution have radial balance. My design solution have unity because everything go together and doesn't look awkward.

My design solution tells me that I like radial balance  because my design is a radial balance. The shapes and colors created the radial balance and the checker box patterns. I used photoshop to make the design more unique by changing the effects and adding pattern.

My design has a lot of repetition and the backgrouond is pink-orange. My design has pink, purple, yellow, red and green. There are repition of circles and the circles have green and red in it. There are dismond patterns inside the green part.

My design solution have repetitionn because of the repeating circles and the repeating checker box pattern. The red circles inside the green circles are being emphasized. The green circles and the light pink background is being contrasted. My design solution have both radial balance and symmetrical balance. My design have unity because everything fit together and it doesn't look awkward.

The design means that I like radial balance and circles because my design has both radial balance and green circles. The shapes and colors created my symmetrical and radial balance. The techniques that I used influence the communication of your ideas by creating circles and checker boxes pattern.

A-Z Photo Filters

My A-Z photo filter is school related things. It has twenty six unique photos and each photo has a different filter. All twenty six photos are pasted onto a piece of paper and it has a filter of which effect is used under each photo.

My A-Z photo filters have a pattern because each row has five photo filters and each column has five photos except for the last row. The white background and the photo filters are being contrasted because the photos stands out on a whitle background. The picture with the effect relief is being emphaiszed because that's the first thing you see when you look at the paper. The photo has both symmetrical balance and asymmetrical balance because some pictures are symmetrical when you cut them in half and some aren't. My A-Z photo filters have unity because every photo matches my theme.

I chose this theme because when we first started the project, it was in the beginning of the school year. The message is to show that there are a lot of unique things related to school. The message tells me that I always think about school related things.

Photo Edit: Changing 7 things in the original picture

My photo is a display of mickey mouse and its dog and mickey is pulling onto his dog. The photo has flipped horizontally from the original picture. I've adding a Cinderella and a castle. The picture affect is glow. The part where the display holds notes, I changed it to another effect called oil painting. The display and the background is being contrasted.

The edited photo have both symmetrical and asymmetrical balance because when you cut it in half, the signs look symmetrical but the objects that I added in and mickey and his dog are asymmetrical. My photo has unity because nothing looks awkward in there and the objects that I added in match with my object.
The picture means that I like cartoon and I like Disney because the display is a Disneyland display. This message of the edited photo is that you could change a really simple picture into a pretty and unique picture.

Yes, I do feel that it is successful because it's my first time using photoshop and I acutally made the picture look good. It created unity because everything worked together. It is created neatly and it looked good because everything worked together.
